Eclectic Shopping in a Small Town Setting
Located just north of downtown in the quaint town of West Stockbridge Massachusetts, this small cedar shake building is artfully arranged with thoughtfully chosen gifts and home decor, creatively revamped lamps, and lovingly restored furniture.
The mix of antique, vintage, and new items is what sets Flourish Market apart from other shops in the area. The founder, Jennifer Knopf, believes that our homes should be decorated with authenticity. That is, our homes should contain the heirloom we inherited from our grandparents, as well as the new piece we just picked up at one of the chain stores. Combining both, in a thoughtful way, gives a home a collected-over-time feel, full of realness and texture - essential to great design.
With charm and certainly some quirk, Flourish Market is truly a treasure trove. Most of the furnishings have been revived, reworked, or repainted - receiving much needed TLC. Antique lighting fixtures are a passion of Jennifer's. She transforms these ho-hum and often cast-off fixtures into something fresh and remarkable. Between rewiring, refinishing, and selecting the perfect new shade, each one is rescued from its shabby past.
The store offers many items handmade in the Berkshires, such as Blue Thistle Studio hand-poured soy wax candles in vintage vessels, as well as greeting cards - all made with care by artist and sales assistant, Mary Rembold. Clip-on earrings and buttons have been up-cycled into bookmarks by Jennifer herself. A New York interior designer makes one-of-a-kind jean jackets, handbags, and artwork under the Groovi name. Mary Gregory lends some Texas vibe to the store with tea towels and note cards made from her original paintings of nature and animals.
The shop's eclectic mix includes many one-of-a-kind smalls, amateur artist's paintings, architectural salvage, stamped silver-plated flatware, vintage and new jewelry, unique photo frames, and so much more! Flourish Market is a not-to-be-missed shopping experience in the Berkshires!
A Note from Flourish Market
Dear Flourish Market customers,
My shop has been closed since March 16, when I voluntarily closed, knowing that our community was in jeopardy. It continues to be important to protect our community from the spread of COVID-19. Our oldest generation is at most risk, and they are the heart of our Berkshire County community. This 3-month closure puts incredible financial strain on small businesses. Please consider a purchase at this time so that we may reopen this summer.
Governor Baker's newly announced reopening plan has retail businesses in Phase 2, which will occur 3 or more weeks after Phase 1 or May 18 (updated). That means that the earliest date of reopening retail would be June 8* (updated). This date for Phase 2 could be pushed back if COVID-19 begins to reemerge. Our current plan is to reopen for in-store browsing on Wednesday, June 10 (updated) - 2 days after the accepted date. We remain OPEN for curbside pick up on Friday and shipping via USPS. We can also accommodate private shopping experiences - please reach out.
For the June 10 reopening:
My shop is small and offers a nearly exclusive shopping experience, and we already have contactless measures in place at checkout. In addition, we will be wearing a mask and sanitizing surfaces throughout the day. Additional steps will be taken as the reopening gets closer.
In the meantime, please stay safe at home. Please wash your hands. Please consider making a purchase from my NEW online shop. And, if you are not already receiving our emails, please go to the bottom of this page and sign up. Looking forward to seeing you again soon!!
